Before Full Tilt fell victim to the United States’ Department of Justice last April, one of the best parts about their site was Rush Poker. The fast paced game was unlike anything offered on any other sites and when Full Tilt went under so too did Rush Poker. That is until now because the same game is back under a new name and new poker room. PokerStars has just recently launched their Beta version of what they are calling “Zoom Poker.”Zoom Poker is like Rush Poker in many ways. To begin playing you simply sit down at a ring table (note: ring games are the only type of play available; no tournaments) and begin to play your hand as you normally would. At the end of the hand you are randomly assigned to a completely new table with all new players. Put this process on repeat and that is what the new Zoom Poker is like. There is an option to pre-fold before your turn so long as you are not part of an existing bet. When you play cash games you find tables to sit at that correspond with the stakes at which you would like to play. With Zoom Poker though, you only have to pick the stakes at which you would like to play and then you will be randomly assigned to an appropriate table. When you arrive at your first table you will typically be placed into the Big Blind but as you move through hands in Zoom Poker, the blinds and who is assigned with them is complete chance.Since Zoom Poker is still new and only in Beta form, the playing option will be sparse. For now there are only micro stakes games and players are allowed to have 4 different Zoom games going on at once.
