Summary
- Triton Super High Roller Series Bali edition cancelled
- Omicron concerns reason for cancellation
- New date for festival will be released at a later stage
Most of the top live poker tournaments made their way to an online platform in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the biggest and most popular high stakes poker festival which is the Triton Super High Roller Series did not switch over to an online platform.
High stakes poker players were keen to see the Triton Super High Roller Series return in 2022. The first instalment of the Triton Super High Roller Series was set to take place in Feb 2022 in Bali, Indonesia. The operator teased high stakes poker players with a 13 day poker festival in the tourist friendly Bali location.
The festival was set to start on Feb 13 and carry a total of 11 events where the buy-ins started out at $30,000 and went all the way up to $200,000 for two Main Events. The Triton Super High Roller Series Bali was set to get a total of 10 hours of live streaming coverage per day.
However that’s not going to happen anytime soon as the operator has confirmed that the Triton Super High Roller Series – Bali has been postponed indefinitely as of now.
Omicron Threat Forces Cancellation
High stakes players were confident that the Triton Super High Roller Series Bali would take place as the 2021 WSOP managed to take place at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada with stringent protocols in place. Given the fact that only mandatory vaccinated players were allowed entry, high stakes poker players were expecting the Bali edition to take place under similar rules.
