Summary:

  • Scott Seiver grabs his third 2024 WSOP bracelet after winning the $10k No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw.
  • Seiver’s accomplishment is similar to Jeff Lisandro’s record in 2009 when he won three bracelets in the same Las Vegas series.
  • The player called his shot at winning Player of the Year before the start of the Series.

The US Poker player hailing from New York, Scott Seiver took down Event #72: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship after defeating an entry pool of 186 participants, taking home $411,041 and his third World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet of the year.

Jeff Lisandro was the last player to grab three WSOP bracelets in the same Las Vegas series in 2009.

Seiver Called His Shot to Win Player of the Year

The seven-time bracelet winner called his shot at winning Player of the Year prior to the start of the Series.

After his most recent victory, he is most likely one of the big favorites in the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year race.

The Cold Spring Harbor player also secured his induction into the Poker Hall of Fame once he becomes eligible at age 40 in 2025.

In an interview after his big win, Seiver said he felt “very satisfied”. “I can’t really describe it”., he added, saying “I’m like on Cloud Nine right now. This just means so much to me”.

The player closed out a heads-up against Canadian Jonathan Krela on Sunday.

Five Done and Four to Go

Seiver also spoke about the win being “a step in a personal journey” where he had “an eye in the sky dream” where he wished to win a bracelet “in every single discipline there is”, which is a total of nine poker variants.

Seiver, who almost won this same event before finishing in second place to Pedro Bromfman in 2022, already has five of them and he has not yet turned 40.

His three bracelets won in a single series now add him to an elite roster of players, with names like Lisandro, Phil Ivey, Ted Forrest, Phil Hellmuth, and Puggy Pearson.

This tournament is just unbelievably special,” the player further commented, adding “I’ve wanted this one for a long time”.
