PokerStars released a public statement concerning their relationship with pro Joe Hachem. Hachem, who won the 2005 World Series of Poker, has been with the biggest site in the industry for about 6 years now and has enjoyed his fair share of successes along the way. When he won the 2005 WSOP it was the highest attended Main Event up to that point. It has since been surpassed but still stands as the 6th highest attended. Both PokerStars and Hachem released statements on the falling out, and PokerStars statement went a little like this:“Joe has been a terrific endorser for PokerStars over the years and, while we are sad to see him leave the Team, we are looking forward to continuing to watch him play. We thank him for all he’s done for our brand, and for poker, and we wish him all the best at the poker table and in life.”Hachem’s statement went like this:“It’s been a great run with PokerStars and I’m proud of my association with the people and the company but it’s time for me to pursue other career opportunities and it will be fun to have some down time to spend with my family. I look forward to the future with much excitement and anticipation and will always have fond memories of my time at PokerStars.”It is good to see that the two are parting on good terms and I think we can all agree that 6 years is quite some time to be affiliated with an online poker site. This news comes a few months after PokerStars did away with most of their American players, who were released on the back end of the events of Black Friday last April. Hachem has collected a lot of winnings in his time with PokerStars, most notably the $7.5 million he won in 2005 at the WSOP.
