Hustler Casino Live (HCL) has been in operation for less than two years but it has already made a mark in the industry for being arguably the most popular live-stream cash game show today.
Now, founders Ryan Feldman and Nick Vertucci are looking to give the show an extra boost by organizing “The Million Dollar Game”, a $1 million buy-in cash game event.
Million Dollar Game on HCL
The event, dubbed the biggest game in live-streamed poker history, will take place in May 2023, though the exact date has yet to be confirmed. Players will have to pay $1 million to take part in the event.
As announced by Feldman during the HCL pre-game show this week, the blinds for the upcoming event will start at $500/$1,000 and are expected to increase as the game progresses. The pot could grow to more than $15 million before a winner is declared.
Feldman said they would invite the best players on the show, including fan favorite Alan Keating whom he described as a “superstar”. Though Keating has yet to confirm his participation, Feldman is confident he’ll be part of the final line-up.
Feldman and the team are also looking to have Eric Persson on the show. Persson is well-known in the US poker circuit, competing in some of the biggest games in Las Vegas and Southern California.
HCL Aims to Break “MrBeast Game” Record
Apart from prominent names in the game of poker, the potential line-up may also include social media and sports celebrities, and anyone who can afford the $1 million buy-in and pull off an entertaining performance, similar to the list of participants in the “MrBeast Game” hosted by HCL back in May 2022.
The game featured poker icons Phil Hellmuth and Tom Dwan, along with YouTube personalities and Twitch streamers. Keating was also on the show and ended up losing $1.1 million on that single session.
The MrBeast Game set a record for garnering more than 100,000 views across different channels. Feldman said their main goal is to surpass that number in The Million Dollar Game this May, and he is confident they’ll achieve that goal.
HCL won’t be the only one attempting to pull off a historic game this year, with PokerGO also announcing a $1 million buy-in live-stream cash game on No Gamble, No Future which takes place on February 17. The final line-up includes Patrik Antonius, Rob Yong, Andrew Robl, MJ Gonzales, Rick Salomon and Persson.
