The site did not provide a reason for closing at this time.While the move may surprise players who had accounts on the site, it won’t actually stop anyone from playing poker. All players at Hollywood Poker will have their account information and balances transferred to RedKings.com, another great poker room on the Ongame Network. Other than the change in branding, players should notice few – if any – differences when they begin playing at Red Kings.Hollywood Poker had built a loyal base of players thanks in big part to its slick presentation and numerous celebrity endorsements. Owing to the site’s name, there were plenty of Hollywood household names that helped promote the site, with Vince Van Patten and James Woods being particularly prominent in the poker room’s advertising. Other famous faces who were linked to the site included Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Alexander, and Mena Suvari.But anyone visiting Hollywood Poker’s website today missed out on the introductory videos and the lists of celebrities players could hope to compete against on the site. Instead, there was only a short message letting players know about the closure and the move to Red Kings.“Hollywood Poker has stopped offering online poker,” the statement read. “So that you can continue playing on the Ongame Network we have arranged to transfer your entire Account Balance to RedKings.com, a leading Ongame Network gaming site offering superb casino and poker games in a secure environment.”In recent months, the Ongame Network has suffered the loss of several poker rooms, with both Gala Casino Poker and Bet24 moving to rival networks. However, Ongame remains one of the biggest players in the online poker industry, with PokerScout ranking it as the fifth-largest online poker room or network in the world.
