GGPoker is living up to its reputation for hosting some of the biggest tournament series in online poker history, breaking its own record with a brand-new festival that features an astonishing $200 million in guarantees!
The “GGPoker World Festival” kicks off on May 1 and is designed for players of all bankrolls. The operator has yet to release the full schedule of the upcoming series, but we can expect it to include hundreds of events, many of which will carry seven- to eight-figure guarantees.
GGPoker World Festival – Initial Details
The GGPoker World Festival will involve more than a month of online action, wrapping up on June 6. Players will have four buy-in tiers to choose from – Low ($2.50+), Medium ($25+), High ($150+), and Super ($1,000+). According to the operator, the festival’s signature events will have “life-changing” prizes.
Overall, there will be $200 million in guaranteed prizes to be won, making it the biggest single online tournament series in history. But that’s not all – players can win additional prizes via leaderboards. Each buy-in level will have its own leaderboard, each offering $100,000 in extra prizes. That means GGPoker will be giving away a total of $400,000 across all four leaderboards which is great news for players.
The full schedule of the upcoming festival is not available yet, but looking at the size of the Spring Festival and Online Championship series hosted by GGPoker in 2021 and 2022 which both featured $150 million in guarantees, it’s safe to assume that the World Festival this May will have a bigger schedule of at least 500 events.
When it comes to individual guarantees, we can expect at least two events to offer $10 million in guaranteed prizes. One of them will likely be played in the popular Mystery Bounty format.
Many events will have seven-figure guarantees, and the average guarantee per tournament could be between $350,000 and $400,000.
The GGPoker World Festival will run simultaneously with the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) which offers $75 million in guaranteed prizes.
GGPoker Aiming to Set New Online Poker Record
After successfully hosting two massive online festivals in the last two years, both of which surpassed their targets, GGPoker has no plans to rest on its laurels.
Apart from hosting the biggest-guaranteed online poker tournament series in history this year, GGPoker is also on course to break the record for the largest payout in a single tournament series currently held by PokerStars via the 2020 SCOOP which generated $185 million in total prize pool.
