BlitzPoker, an online poker platform which launched in India in Aug 2020, is currently making waves in the country’s booming online poker scene. The site, owned by I3 Interactive is currently running a massive online poker series, the Indian Online Poker Championship (IOPC) which is poised to set a new poker record in India.
The poker festival started on Jan 14 and will wrap up on January 31, featuring a whopping INR 28 crore ($4 million) in total guaranteed prize pool. This figure is the largest-ever in Indian online poker history.
The main event alone carries a massive guarantee of 3.5 crore (approx. $490,000), surpassing that of PokerBaazi’s “Game Changer” in 2019 which featured a record-setting $283,000 in guaranteed prize money.

Festival Highlights
Spartan Poker, BlitzPoker’s partner network, is playing host to the festival which features events for players of all levels. Among the key events of the series are two Millionaire events and three Highrollers.
The main highlight of the festival is the multi-flight Main Event, dubbed “The Crown” which kicks off on January 25. The winner of this event will walk away with a Gold Crown, hampers, and certificates, apart from the top prize.
The festival also features a Leaderboard where players can win a share of 1 Crore in extra prizes. In addition to that, there are at least four feature tournaments that will be livestreamed, including the Millionaire Legends and The Crown – both of which are taking place this week.
Players also get the chance to win more fabulous prizes by reaching “The Masters Table“, the winner of which will take home an AVENGER CHRONOGRAPH 43 BREITLING customized watch, and will be crowned as “The Mastermind”.
BlitzPoker Continues to Grow
BlitzPoker has been performing well since its launch about six months ago. Despite being a new player in India’s competitive online poker market, the site was able to host a poker event of such magnitude, which is a remarkable achievement. It has enjoyed rapid growth over the past few months, attracting players, both amateurs and pros.
When the site announced the 2021 IOPC, it highlighted the massive success it has had in 2020, finishing the year “on a very high note“. It promised to deliver more unique and exciting offerings and initiatives for its players, as it continues its commitment of attracting new players to the game and promoting poker as a game of skill.
