Once Lock Poker got wind of a small annually played Christmas poker tournament in Omagh, Northern Ireland, they decided to make it an event. For the 18 players who each paid a buy-in of 100 GBP, Lock decided to throw in an extra 1000GBP to increase the prize pool to 2800GBP. This was a huge surprise to the players who play with each other on a weekly basis, mainly in 10GBP buy-in games. In addition to the money Lock added to the winnings, they also decided to give the 9 lucky players who made it to the final table some nice Lock Poker hoodies. All in all these contributions did not mean much to Lock, but to the players in the tournament it was a nice omen they will remember for the rest of their lives. Not only did the players have a chance to win much more than they were used to, they also were given the chance to receive Lock Poker apparel. Thanks to Lock the first place prize was now 1200GBP, second was 700GBP, third 500GBP, fourth 300GBP, and fifth received 100GBP. The players really appreciated the fact that Lock Poker set time and money aside to help make their tournament just a bit more interesting. This is yet another story that exemplifies poker rooms looking to make their customers happy. No one expected this, but it was a welcomed surprise and the winner, Ciaran Heaney made away with a lot of extra spending money for the holiday season. I would not be all too surprised if Lock Poker saw a few more members after this show of benevolence gets more publicity. Lock is already one of the top online poker sites that is rising the charts as far as weekly traffic is concerned.
