Will Mike Matusow finally be inducted into the 2023 Poker Hall of Fame? Many believe it’s a sure thing, but others are saying he is not among the top contenders as he still needs to achieve more. Some poker fans don’t want Matusow in as they don’t think he’s a good guy.

Matusow Should Be 2023 Poker Hall of Fame Inductee
Poker fans have until June 18 to submit their nominees on the WSOP.com site. To be eligible for the Poker Hall of Fame, a player must be at least 40 years old, have played consistently well gaining the respect of peers, competed against acknowledged top players, played for high stakes, and stood the test of time. Non-players who have contributed to the overall growth of the game, with indelible positive results, are also considered for the honor.
American poker player Mike Matusow, known in the poker community as “The Mouth”, has been playing the game for over three decades now. Throughout his career, he has won four WSOP gold bracelets, the first of which came in 1999 when he took down a $3,500 No-Limit Hold’em event.
Matusow has not won a bracelet since 2013, but he remains active in the competition, participating in the series each year and still winning some cash, though everyone would agree he’s already past his prime. Apart from the WSOP, The Mouth also found huge success in other major tournaments, including the World Poker Tour (WPT) in which he has five final tables.
More than his achievements, Matusow is among the most memorable poker figures because of his entertaining personality, and according to his friend and Poker Hall of Fame member Phil Hellmuth.
