European e-wallet provider MuchBetter has signed Chris Moneymaker as its latest ambassador. The partnership with Moneymaker has an interesting twist to it as the 2003 WSOP Main Event winner has had a public battle with American e-wallet giant PayPal.
Chris Moneymaker announced on social media in May 2021 that PayPal had suddenly seized $12,000 of his funds and did not give him much of an explanation even when he reached out. PayPal is not very friendly towards online gambling sites and has seized funds for a number of online gamblers over the years who did nothing about it as they did not have a huge platform like Moneymaker.
Moneymaker decided to take legal action against PayPal and hired a top legal firm. The Poker Hall of Famer also called on PayPal users who had suffered a similar experience at the hands of PayPal and said that he planned to launch a class action lawsuit against the payment provider.
Moneymaker reported in June that PayPal had refunded his $12,000 and said he would take his name out of the lawsuit but would still go on with the legal action to teach PayPal a lesson.
MuchBetter has a more friendly policy towards online gambling sites and is looking to leverage Moneymaker and his recent history
with PayPal to their advantage. They have launched a special promotion in September.
Moneymaker Promo For 2021 WSOP
The MuchBetter Moneymaker promotion will give away a $10,000 2021 WSOP Main Event seat along with a special online poker coaching session with Moneymaker. Players will also get special tech gadgets to enhance their online poker experience at home.
To take part in the promotion, players will have to go to the MuchBetter website and click on the Moneymaker promotion. The first step is to send MuchBetter the phone number attached to your account. You then need to make a deposit of $86 or equivalent in whatever currency you use before Sep 31.
You must then use part of this money from your MuchBetter account to make a deposit at any online gambling site. Once you do this, you will automatically be entered into the drawing. If you deposit anything more after the $86 deposit, you will receive additional entries into the competition. The winners for this promotion will be announced on October 8.
