Poker Maximus was a huge string of events being held primarily on Lock Poker, but also across all Merge Gaming Network poker skins. The tournament series very recently finished up and with total cash giveaways surpassing $2.5 million, it is easy to see how this event was a huge success. After all, the Merge Gaming Network is one of the few online poker networks that still offers its services to US-based players and a tournament of this magnitude was never going to go unnoticed. The action on the last day, this past Sunday, saw over $1 million being given away in just 4 events. While most people would think that the Main Event would be the highest cash out of the day, the $530 Superstack Tournament took the cake this past Sunday. The prizepool for the Main Event was just $321,000, while the Superstack tournament had a $402,000 prizepool. The other two events on the day combined for a little over $300,000 in total prize money and by the times things wrapped up, some people were walking away with large sums of cash.Even if you did not cash out big on Sunday, don’t worry, because Merge Network is giving away prize-packages to the players with the highest points earned during the tournament. A player by the name of “BeWater” took home top honors as he finished with over 1,387 points throughout the tournament, having participated in 40 of the 70 total events. All in all it was a great tournament series and players and coordinators alike enjoyed the fact that almost every single prize pool exceeded expectations. Judging by the success of Poker Maximus, I would not be too surprised if we saw another tournament series like this again sometime very soon. I am sure that the magnitude of this event earned Lock Poker and other Merge skins a large influx of new players.
